50 Years of Passenger Trains – Sun 4 March

The first steam train of the season at 1030 will be flagged off by the Mayor of Leighton-Linslade accompanied by the Town Crier. At 1100, No1 Simplex Diesel, which hauled the first ever passenger train in 1967, will pose in platform 2 with 2 open wagons similar to those used for the first passenger train.

Those holding tickets for the 1130 will have an opportunity to ride in the replica original train in open wagons at 1110 for a short trip in Page's Park yard, prior to their departure. The 1130 and 1330 will use similar coaches to the earliest passenger trains hauled by No 1 diesel, assisted by up to 3 other vintage diesels. The 1230 and 1430 will be steam hauled.
