The Leighton Buzzard Railway is only 40 miles (65km) to the north of central London, and a short journey from most places in the northern Home Counties and southern Midlands.

The Railway is within easy reach of the M1 motorway, the A5 trunk road, and London Luton airport. The main line from London (Euston), the Grand Union Canal, and National Cycle Route 6 all pass through the town. We’re so easy to find!

The Leighton Buzzard Railway’s trains start from Page’s Park station. This is to the south of the town centre, on the eastern side of Billington Road, and alongside the public park of the same name.

Look out for the large signs at our entrance, and ignore any satnav instructions to turn into the industrial estate opposite. There is all-weather car and coach parking, which is free of charge. Customers with disabilities have a dedicated parking area, next to the station building. Advance notice of coach and disability parking requirements is appreciated.

From the town centre: Follow the brown steam train signs southwards along Lake Street, signposted Dunstable and Hemel Hempstead. Look out for our entrance on the eastern side of Billington Road.

From the Milton Keynes direction: Take the A4146 dual-carriageway from the south of Milton Keynes, signposted Aylesbury and Leighton Buzzard. At the A418 (Aylesbury) roundabout, this becomes a single carriageway. Follow signs for Dunstable, and turn left towards Leighton Buzzard at the roundabout where “Narrow Gauge Railway” is signed. Follow the brown signs along Billington Road, going straight ahead at traffic lights and two further roundabouts. The station entrance is on the right, just before the public park.

From the Hemel Hempstead direction: Follow the northbound A4146 towards Leighton Buzzard, and go straight ahead at the A505 roundabout. Follow the brown signs along Billington Road, going straight ahead at traffic lights and two further roundabouts. The station entrance is on the right, just before the public park.

From the Luton/Dunstable direction: North of Dunstable on the A5, turn left at the A505 roundabout, signposted Aylesbury. At the A505/A4146 roundabout, where “Narrow Gauge Railway” is signed, turn right towards Leighton Buzzard, and proceed as from Hemel Hempstead.

From the Aylesbury direction: Take the A418 eastwards as far as the A4146 roundabout, then turn right following signs to Dunstable, and proceed as from Milton Keynes.

From the Bedford direction: Take the A421 into Milton Keynes, then follow the A4146, signposted Aylesbury and Leighton Buzzard, and proceed as from Milton Keynes.

From the M1: Northbound, take Junction 12, and follow the A5120 to the north of Dunstable, turning right on to the A5. Then proceed as from Dunstable.  Southbound, follow the A509 towards Milton Keynes from Junction 14, then at the first roundabout take the A4146 (signposted Aylesbury), and proceed as from Milton Keynes.

By train: Leighton Buzzard’s main-line station is on the opposite side of the town, about 2 miles (3km) away. London Midland operate frequent trains to and from London (Euston), Watford Junction, Hemel Hempstead, Milton Keynes and Northampton, and on to Birmingham and Crewe. Southern run direct to and from East Croydon and Clapham Junction, giving easier access for places south of the Thames. Take Bus Service D1, half hourly from the main-line station to the “Narrow Gauge Railway” stop (not Sundays or Bank Holidays). Bus Service 70 runs daily between Luton railway station (East Midlands Trains and First Capital Connect services) and Morrison’s supermarket in Leighton Buzzard, which is a short walk from Page’s Park station, along Billington Road.

By bus: Service D1 runs half-hourly from the main-line station, canal and town centre, along Billington Road to the “Narrow Gauge Railway” stop (not Sundays or Bank Holidays). Service 70 operates daily from the main-line station, canal and town centre to Milton Keynes, Dunstable and Luton, and stops outside Morrison’s supermarket. Page’s Park station is a short walk from here, along Billington Road.

By boat: Linslade wharf, on the Grand Union Canal, is between the main-line station and the town centre. Take the local bus services to Page’s Park, as above.

By bicycle: Route 6 of the National Cycle Network passes through Leighton Buzzard, and stands are provided at Page’s Park station, where cycles can be left in safety while you take a train ride. Please check in advance, if you want to take them on the train.

By air: Leighton Buzzard is a short drive or taxi ride from London-Luton Airport. The Southern train service from East Croydon and Clapham Junction offers one-change access from London-Gatwick Airport. In addition, London Midland operate train services from Birmingham International station, for Birmingham Airport.
