Country walks
Starting directly opposite Stonehenge Works station, a network of public footpaths allows you to explore the rolling Bedfordshire countryside, and picturesque villages such as Eggington, where the late comedian, Bob Monkhouse, spent his final years. Some have traditional pubs, where you can stop off for refreshments en route. Or you can take a picnic–but please remember to take all your bits home with you.
You have the choice of a short brisk walk with return on the same train, or a more leisurely stroll, coming back on a later service. The last train from Stonehenge Works is at 16.25 on most days, but check beforehand!
